ESPN reports that 18 year-old Stephen Domalewski was awarded a $14.5 million settlement in his lawsuit against a baseball bat manufacturer, Little League Baseball, and a sporting goods chain.
The incident occurred in 2006, when 12 year-old Domalewski was pitching when the batter hit a line drive back at him which slammed into his chest. The impact sent Domalewski into cardiac arrest and ultimately resulted in his permanent injuries.
The batter was using a metal bat at the time, which are being phased out in Little League Baseball.
